(DL23) - The Nerks - GREATEST HITS VOLUME 1

In 2012, this record came out and it seems to be the group's only record. Cocky title and if you look at the pictures in the album, it feels more like it's a funpunkband. With a pretty tough sound, Nerks begins the record with a song called Violence. I think back to oi records and to punk from the 80s. Thinking a little bit about the Anti-Nowhere League and I think a little bit that's the singer's merit. The record continues in the same way and after hearing the record, I guess I take away that they would be a fun band – at least not musically because it's hard and really good British punk that's the thing for the group. So this thing about Greatest Hits might not be a completely wrong title on this record because it's ten small hits when it comes to punk like this. If you like street punk / UK82 punk and good old-fashioned punk, I think Nerks might be something to check out for you too! Thanks for this album Deadlamb Records... one of my new favourite bands.. Clearly! 7/12-2022

"The first CD by these English punks(- and skins - ). Mohawk punk inspired by the likes of GBH and Drongos for Europe. Their lyrics deal with important issues as violence, farting and shop-lifting. Indeed, they are punk all the way(-you can call it Oi! too-)! According to the booklet this CD is recorded at someone's home, but you wouldn't guess so when hearing this. Good sound, good vocals, nice songs, decent stuff."
