(DL55) SPITHEAD - Swag

Rate: 8 Stars

This album came out in 1986 from the beginning but has now been reissued in fine blue vinyl. I hear right away that this is for me because the ska-like introduction makes me happy. Both female and male vocals and it adds more dimension to their ska music. Typical British sound on the music and it's a sound that's so nicely typical of the 80s at the same time as it holds up really well today as well. Like the dialect of the song and the music is so nice danceable so it's very hard to sit still but why should you do it. Or by the way, I'll have to do it would look weird if I started jazzing around right now with a lot of people around me. Then of course punk is around the corner all the time and the lyrics are lyrics that are important and if you as a punk don't like this, you might as well call yourself a punk. Feels both humorous and serious at the same time and it's a lovely mix. 1/12-2022
